Momentum vs Motivation

So what’s the difference between Momentum + Motivation + why are they important?

Motivation is your ‘why’ while Momentum as your ‘how’. We often wait for that spark of motivation, to find the right time and we’ll know what to do, everything will align and make it easy. Momentum is what keeps us going during a time where motivation is not there. Its the little steps we take each and every day which give us the results we want.

Motivation is the spark of inspiration we feel, the get up and go, the energy to get started. Motivation is a a bit like the booster rocket on space ships. It’s big and powerful and useful in getting the rocket launched, but quickly burns out and falls away. Motivation as being like the sun, it’s beautiful and energising when it’s out. But when it goes behind the clouds, we feel disappointed and our energy can quickly fade.

Momentum is a powerful, but often overlooked. Momentum will get you through times when there is no or low motivation. The times which are tough, when you’re tired, have set backs or feel stuck or things are not motiving forward.  It’s for the times when it’s really difficult to get motivated.

That’s when you need momentum –  “the power to increase or develop at an ever-growing pace.”

Taking small steps, breaking large tasks down into smaller tasks makes things feel less overwhelming. Fear of failure or the unknown often gets in the way of getting started and generating the momentum needed to keep going.

We have all had that feeling where we get a burst of motivation, see a quote that inspires us, start our new routine and feel on top of the world, then wake up the next day and it’s gone and we feel back to square one again.

Momentum keeps us going long after the motivation has gone.

According to Newton’s Laws of Motion – a body that is still, will stay still.  A body in motion will tend to stay in motion.  So, to create momentum you must get into action.  Even one small baby step can create the shift in energy that will enable you to move solidly towards your goals.

Here are some tips to help you gain momentum

  1. Get a piece of paper, a notebook, something to write with
  2. Sit somewhere quiet, take three deep breaths and ask yourself – What’s your why? WHY do you want to make change in your life? Imagine how it will feel, what will change?
  3. Make a list of 10 things you want to achieve, to change, find your why for each, it might be the same or different for each one
  4. Write actions points underneath as to how you can go about making changes to do it.
  5. Another good questions to ask is why are you stopping yourself from getting where you want to be?

Each week for the first 4 weeks involves in in person treatment, as well as tools, experiences and planning to be completed at home.

WEEK 1 REALIGN – We’ll start with a 90 minute initial consultation, intention setting and treatment, spending time discussing your medical history, how you are currently feeling, how you want to feel at the end of the program.

WEEK 2 REFRESH – Second treatment and discussion of goals, tools and small simple changes you can implement into your daily life to keep your body balanced and your mind set on how you want to feel. WEEK 3

RESET – Third treatment and intorductio to Connective Tissue Release we will cotinue resetting the physical body, brining the body into a more balanced state, lowering stress, improving sleep, WEEK 4 RESULT – From day one you will start seeing results but after week 4 you will feel . . . . . . WEEK 4-8 SUSTAIN / NOURISH /

SUPPORT – Go away with a plan to sustain what we’ve done so far with support in another 4 weeks time to check progress.
