Yoga for Tight Hips

Oh how I love a hip opening pose, it’s something I’m constantly working on, especially since my surgery. I would love my hips to be more open but I’m also very conscious that I don’t want to push it. I’ve dealt with injury in that area and I don’t want to deal with another.

I regular practice these postures, at the moment I’m working on pigeon . . . many people have a love, hate relationship with this pose, including me. Most of the time I love it, but it can also frustrate me.

Some Tips when practice pigeon pose

  • Any problems with your knees or extremely right hips please lie back in sleeping pigeon.
  • Use props under hips in pigeon pose to keep pelvis square.
  • Rest on hands forearms or lie down depending on how your body feels
