RICE PORRIDGE

An Ayurvedic Recipe for breakfast

A warming and nourishing breakfast recipe for the winter months. Particularly good for Vata and Pitta Dosha,


INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup of white or brown Basmati rice

  • ½  cup of coconut milk

    salt

  • stick of cinnamon (small)

  • sugar (if necessary)

  • dry fruits

  • almond flakes


INSTRUCTIONS

Cook rice and  cinnamon with 3 cups of water until it become soggy. When the rice grains are very soft add milk and stir continuously until the milk boils. Mix sugar , almond flakes and dried fruits. If you prefer more liquid form, you can add little more hot water. It you prefer more semisolid form, keep on fire for a while until it becomes little thick.
