why every child should practice yoga

Yoga covers a huge range of skills, tools and techniques which helps to take care of a child's health and wellbeing on a physical, mental and emotional level. Yoga helps to build resilience and to help a child to self-regulate when deal with different challenges they may face throughout childhood and beyond. 

On a physical level Yoga helps to maintain a child's natural flexibility which can become tight through prolonged sitting, yoga will help to create strength on a physical level but also on a mental level.  Working through physically challenging yoga postures can help to build that self-resilience that comes with facing a challenge. Yoga is something that can be practiced anywhere at any time. 

Yoga with Strength and Soul include physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation along with mindfullness techniques so help children build their toolbox to pick and choose from. Developing their ability to cope and self-regulate with whatever life throws their way.

We will also draw upon different cultures in our teachings from our travels, trainings and mentors. We have been lucky to visit and learn from people from Hawaii, India and Sri Lanka and draw up the Vedic and Hawaiian cultures. 

 


WORK WITH US IN YOUR SCHOOL OR AT THE BARN

We can come to you or bring you class to visit us at The Barn for a yoga class, meditation and relaxation techniques, walk around nature on the grounds of the farm where we can see the wind turbines, visit animals and be surrounded by nature.
Visits can be tailored to your needs, school or specific projects you are working on.

Joann and Ruth are qualified teachers as well as qualified yoga teachers. We have experience in nursery, primary, secondary and with special needs. We are GTCS registered, have full disclosure, Strength + Soul are also registered on PECOS>

Half Day - 9.30 - 12.00pm | £180

Full Day - 9.30 - 2.30pm | £300

6 week block of classes | £300

45 minutes - 1 hour per week depending on your school timetable Schools - 2hr minimum (max 20)

  • x1 one hour class per week (maximum 20 students per class)

  • Classes can fit in with school's themes and requirements

One off session | 1 hours 30 mins - £100

Health Week

We can visit you during your health week to offer a half day, full day or one off session to support your schools Health and Wellbeing.

All equipment will be provided

YOGA FOR STAFF

Join us for a staff wellbeing session at The Barn on a Friday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm - have lunch, tea, coffee, leave your week behind, practice yoga and relaxation.

OLDER TEENS AGED 17 - 21

Tuesday - 5.15. - 6.15pm - 17 - 21 (with Jo) | STARTING Tuesday 30th October - Tuesday 4th December

Introductory price - 6 weeks £35

Space available for parents or friends dropping off your teenager to relax, have tea, coffee, access to wifi or go for a walk.
